Thanks.

Thanks. Maybe an hour to construct? What do you do about deer coming in from another direction?.....lol

I'd be hosed in my best spot!

BobCo, that is really cool! I made one last week. Put my back to a huge oak tree and then surrounded it on three sides with a bunch of old laydown logs and sticks. I will use that when the weather is really hot. I found a remote creek that pools up with a million deer tracks walking in the mud around it, and heavily used deer trails moving through some really thick cover. I will not go around that home made ground blind again until I hunt it in October.

Well I don't have photos but i use them often. I prefer dead falls I can brush in and windbreaksbut I also like tall broom straw or briar patches(a lot of these areas on edges of powerlines, cutovers, etc.). If you have any ditches deep enough you can almost hunt them like a pit blind(I have hunted right in the middle of a bean field in one of the ditches crossing it).

One more tip, never makeeye contact with a deer. They tend to freak out a little.

No pictures, but cut several 6-10ft cedar trees and stacked them in a "U" shape around another tree for a backdrop. We've been using this stand for years, just add a couple trees each year as they dry out.

I too have used them many time but am guilty of no pics as well, I hunt in the cedars and I will usually clear out a spot that has good over hang and brush in around it.....They do work well, I have had axis eating the cedars I used to brush in with....I truly enjoy getting on the ground with them, you will find it is a lot of fun and a different angle to hunt them from...I do believe that the wind plays a bigger part on the ground but it is do-able...

The blind has four sides to it. It took a bit longer then an hour to make, but if you have a tree down nearby it sure will help. I only hunted from it twice and both times it was around 80 degrees. My hunting partners fathershot an very nice buck from it during deer season though.

Here is a pic from a different angle while we were making it. You can see my son peeking through it.

Thanks, Bob. I'll be on tote-n-chip duty, this weekend.

I appreciate you taking the time to post these. And I hope the little guy gets one from there, this fall.

I don't have a picture of this beauty, but I think you will be able to picture it in your mind's eye. It is a pine tree in some tall grass.

I will actually be hunting that spot quite a bit this fall I think. A wind blowing from 181-359 would be good for it.
