Default Broadhead advice, Please

Alright guys, I am and have been a fan of expandable's for a long time. The pure accuracy and consistancy of them compared to field tips is the reason. I have used Scorpion XP's for quite sometime now, and LOVE them!Good holes, super accurate! But I think they are not making them anymore

1. Does anyone know if they are still making them for sure? Where can you find them reasonably $$ ? (Cabelas and the 3 local bow shops dont have them here.)

2. What would you recommend that is as close to the Scoprion style as possible?

PS Lets keep Rage out of this, bought a pack last year, two opened prematurely. Never again.

Thanks for your help guys.

Rocky mtn. makes a broadhead that is basically a rage, but uses a little rubber band to prevent pre-mature opening!

I have never had any dealings with the scorpion andI don't know what style they are. I have been shooting the same Bh(Vortex Pro Extreme 100gr) for 10+ years now. They have performed for me flawlessly for neara decade with my set-up's, I don't shoot light, fast hunting arrows...cabelas has them....

Prior to shooting the Rage 2 blades I was shooting Spitfires. There is no reason that I switched other than I like to try new broadheads. If you like the Scorpions give the Spitfires a try. They leave great blood trails, the problem is they are usually very short.

I honestly don't care which head you choose. TOO many good ones out there.

But I'm curious as to how the Rage's opened. What type quiver were you using?

Yes those are the ones, they appear on cabelas website, but they dont have them I looked, called etc. No dice. I was using a alpine quiver, I hollowed the holes out plenty in order to not touch the blades. One I shot at a bobcat during late season in Tioga County PA and it prematurely opened as it was a 40yard shot and I could see the arrow pull sharply down and to the right about half way to the target. I know it opened bc I had one do it shooting at a glen target buck and it did the same exact motion. I had problems while sitting in the tree if I would tap the arrow to hard they would shake out. Maybe I had a bad bunch I dont know. But I do know I have ever been able to bring myself to buy another pack. Not trying to put them down or tell people not to use them, they just arent for me. [&:]

I was just in Bowhunters Superstore up the road from me and they have 2 dozen packs of NAP Scorpion XP's hanging on their showroom floor. $29.99 a pack.

www.bowhunterssuperstore.com

I understand that their shipping rates are reasonable too.
