Default Sawdust!!

Last week cut some trees around one of my bow stands that had fallen down in a wind storm. It was a good size tree so there was a lot of sawdust. Later that night I took a 4 wheeler ride and there must have been 10-15 deer. Bucks and does eating the sawdust. Any reason behind this. The tree was a white oak.

All I can say is deer love white oak acorns above all others. Maybe the saw dust is sweet like the acorns?

the deer love fresh cut wood. On the loging roads here the deer are always wherever the loggers are cutting.

I think it's the tender shoots on the cut branches that attract's the deer to fresh logging area's. In this case, he's describing them eating the fresh saw dust.

Weird. Maybe those who bait should start baiting with saw dust?

We cut a lot of wood and this isn't the first time I have seen this, I just never seen so many deer at one time at the sawdust pile.
