Default Would you shoot a Rage 2 Blade on this light arrow?

365 grain total weight moving at 297 fps (KE = 71.52).

Whitetail deer only. Would you feel comfortable with this setupor would you prefer a heavier arrow?

Spine is good (just a tad stiff but flies great).

KE is KE on a light arrow or heavy

Meaning

66 Ft lbs 400 grain arrow is = and the same to a 300 grain arrow that has 66 ft lbs of KE

BUT

Where the heavier gets its benefit is momentum I voted no

You most likely would be fine, I was shooting the same set up last year and blew through 3 whitetails like they were butter, and I shoot a larger cutting mechanical head than the rage. This year I am adding weight to achieve more KE....When I get done I should be in the 80ft lb range with a 500gr arrow.

What head were you using that was larger than the Rage?

IMHO, one doesn't need as much KE with a Rage as one does with "traditional" mechanical broadheads. They just don't burn any while opening. You're essentially shooting a fixed blade head, as they are fully deployed BEFORE they enter the animal.

IMO, you've got PLENTY of KE, and I wouldn't even think twice about it.

I didn't know that the Rage needed the aid of an arrow.

I'll be shooting 60#'s and less KE (but close)than you (but enough to ethically get the job done, with ease IMO).

And I agree with Mo.
