Default Bowtech Commander

Ok as some of you know I'm in the market for a new bow. I've been looking at the Drenalin LD, Switchback LD, and the Bowtech Commander. I shot the Drenalin LD today. It shot great. I'm not used to the longer ATA bows like that though. A buddy of mine made a call and found, what we think, is a great deal. He found a brand new 07 Bowtech Commander for $500. He said he would hold it until I could get there to shoot it. Do ya'll think that's a good deal? How does this bow perform? Thanks for the input fellas (or ladies!)!

I think it is a good deal, I think that bow sells for $700+. I bought an 07' off of Ben here for more than that but it had some accessories. You know that the commander is a longer ATA bow as well, I think 36"??? Real close to that anyway,I would definately give it a try, it is the sweetest bow I have ever shot. However the guardian is just as smooth, just a little shorter ATA...Go shoot it, it is worth the money, if it is in good shape....Look it over real good, I also bought new strings and cables from MeanV here on HNI for $55 (vapor trails), keep that in mind when looking the string over....

Edit: I just caught the fact that you said it was brand new......Yeah, I would definately say it is worth it.....

Commander stats: 29.5" @ 65lbs Shoot a 380 gr GT Xt @ 296-298fps=70+ ft lbs KE

I looked at the Guardian but my draw length is 31-31.5" so it's too short. I wanted a shorter ATA but for that price I might just change my mind!

We did the first this past weekend. Was not very well attended. There are quite a few events over the next 4 weeks though.

I will make my first show for them the first weekend in August, should be a good turn out it's the Texas Trophy Hunters Show in Houston. I just don't know what to expect but I am pretty excited, seems like a good way to be around hunting in the off season. I guess we will see....

They guy at the shop said I had 29.9" modules, I bought the commander used from Ben here at HNI and it was 30.5" and I just couldn't swing it but it shot about 10fps faster. Not that there is anything wrong with what it shoot at 29.5"....I think with your long Dl you will really like this bow and I also think that is one heck of a deal but some of the Bowtech guys would know more about that than I do, I just know what they get for them at the local pro shop.....Good Luck with the bow!!!
