Dipping Arrows

I've started dipping my arrows last night and have two questions:

I keep getting air bubbles on my dip ( some call them snake eyes). How can you minimize these or completely rid the dip of these?

Also, I'm using the same Bohning fletch-lak flat white paint as I used last year? Should I replace the old pain with some new stuff?

What do you guys think?

I always just use Krylon spray paint. Seems to work well.

The shaft may not be clean enough,any debris that wasn't wiped off completely can cause bubbles.

Humidity might be a little too high causing your air bubbles.

Not sure what is causing the air bubbles?Are you thinning the paint prior to dipping? I think one of the casues is having the dip paint too thick.

Put just a little bit of thinner in the tube w/ the lacquer. Actually, mix it up prior to dumping it in the tube, then let it set a little while to let the air work it's way out.

Not too much, just to thin it out JUST a touch...Bohning lacquer is pretty thick. New cans especially have an awful lot of air in them. If you don't have thinner, just let it set in the tube for while to let the air out.
