Default Hostage Pro

So, after placing my order today for my new bow, I decided I would buy a Hostage Pro to try out on her. Being as I won't see the bow (ordered it in a custom color) until Thursday, I decided to throw it on one of the 82nds behind my counter. A few quick adjustments and I was shooting bullet holes in no time. Three shots later and I busted a nock. I'm impressed.

I have to say, I really like the Octane packaging. Definitely catches the eye.

A lot more fine tuning is available with the Pro version over the original.

The bristles are improved over the original as well. Though I'm still concerned with how quickly they'll wear out.

You aren't able to fine tune the bristles to the size of your shaft as much as I thought you would be able to. The bristles essentially fit down into slots in the rest itself. If you're in between the slots as far as sizes are concerned, you're sort of screwed.

All in all I like the rest so far. I'm anxious for my bow to arrive so I can really put it to the test. The machined aluminum is really an improvement over the old plastic version. We'll see how well it performs once the bow arrives.

I have the Hostage, not the pro. After shooting MANY arrows you will see wear on the bristles, but only on the bottom one. I have had to rotate my bottom one with one of the others after about 500 shots, which was veryeasy to do.

Its definately a better rest than my former WB, as there is absolutely no contact with any fletching. I will be replacing mine with the pro if I decide to go with blazers as there is more clearance with the pro, but all in all I will always stick with the hostage.

If you shoot CX Maximas they will eat up bristles faster. The Bull Dog nock collar seems to be the culprit.

I've had mine for a few weeks on my Ally. I like it so far, I am shooting just as good of groups as ever at 45-50 yds. It was super easy& quick to setup. I don't shoot a ton of arrows like most probably do, so I haven't noticed any wear.

Made a last minute change of mind and went with a 60# 82nd in APG. Should show up on Thursday.

Shot one arrow through the one at work at 28" and hit 298fps. Sold!

Nice review Dan!! The Hostage Pro is a sweet looking restMany nice features and quality throughout.

I am a fan of Dropaways but I already have a Hostage Pro set upon my Turkey Bow.
