Default hunting seasons

OK guys I want to know how long your hunting season last and bag limits, bow season, rifle season, muzzleloader, ect.I'll start.I live in louisiana and our bows season runs through oct. 1st through the end on JAN. 2 weeks of muzzle loader and a very liberal rifle season, our bag limit is 6 deer per season,3 of each sex.I very much enjoy a long hunting season and what I consider a liberal bag limit, but I can't help to think that this is the reason we don't have the number of mature whitetails as some do in other parts of the country.I don't think I would want to shorten the season, but what would some of you like to see changed in your state in regards to season lenght and bag limits, ect.I would like to see the state go to a six point min.for bucks because I think this would result in more mature bucks slipping through to the next season.Come on guys give me your take on it for your state.

Bow season strts here on Sept. 8th....and I bowhunt all the way through all seasons. Closer is around 12/15 for my zone of the state.

ML "I think" comes in around 11/15 and rifle starts one week later.

I can kill 2 bucks in my zone and somewhere around 200 does (2 a day for the entire season), legally.

Ya know....I've thought about it....and I guess I'd change the buck limit in my zone to 1. I don't know what they're thinking, really. I guess they figure if they limit bucks.....people won't be out there to kill the does. You know.....they'll get "their buck" and quit for the year. I guess there's some reality/truth to that thinking.

See.....I live in a stat ethat kills more bucks than does, every year. Ya think that ought to tell 'em something?

I'm not for AR's.....at all. I used to be.....but I'm not, anymore.

SO hunters in your state can kill a lot of does but don't am I reading you right? And is your buck to doe ratio way out of wack.

Well...last year was the first for unlimited does (2/day) in select situations (private land/etc...). But we still killed more bucks than does.

If you look at it mathematically/logically.....they tell us that our state's buck:doe ratio can't get worse or much worse than 1:3 (prior to the seasons opening).

SO......they probably seem a lot worse than they are.....and in my woods....it is. We have a lot of does....which is not conducive to harboring bucks.

We need to kill more does, ......that's a given.

Opener is the middle of September here in Minnesota and goes till the end of the year. In my zone I think its one and done. The rigs haven't came out yet for deer hunting so I'm just assuming there no different then last year.

What would I like to see changed- Move the gun season 2 weeks back to the middle of November instead of the first 2 weeks of November. I know our buck population would be much better then.

I'd like a real bow season. This year they cut us to less than a month, something like17 days in the northern tier of NY. You can add 4 days to that in early bow if you didn't fill a tag last year. 28 days in the Southern half of the state. That doesn't give a guy with a job a whole lot of time to tag a deer up north where I live.Gun hunters get50 days plus muzzleloader week. It just doesn't seem fair to me.TOO many specialty seasons, youth hunts, early muzzleloaders seasons etc etc. OR... at least let us have a late bow season too after all the guns go boom. You think about it, the bowhunter really gets crapped on in NY.
