my grandfather(big elk hunter) just bought 551 acres in montrose colorado that backs up to over 10000 acres of public hunting ground and i will be able to bowhunt it this year for mulies and elk!!!!!!!

I was THIS close to going to Montrose this year with Greg/MO.........the group leader of the trip filled the last spot right before I had a chance.

Sounds like a popular place to elk hunt? Seems like everytime I hear of someone going to CO to hunt Elk they mention Montrose.

lol yea we have a log cabin up there by ridgway just outside of montrose and have been hiking and skiiing there for years and have always seen good bulls and absolutely HUGE mule bucks and when we seen this land, it wasnt that it was a ton of acres, it was that the public land borders it and that public ground is giant!
