I have started hanging mine. I think the earlier the better, but sometimes it just comes down to when I have the time.

In most parts of the country the archery season opens as deer are still in or just coming out of their summer patterns. Summer patterns are extremely easy to pick up on... largely until the acorns fall or until a MAJOR forage change occurs (such as a bean field going brown or corn being harvested) the deer will keep on doing what they are doing now until the bucks break out and start gearing for the rut.

I usually start hanging them labor day.I hunt my own property every year and all I do is find the food sources and hen let the deer find them too.
