I'm going to Kansas!!!

I drew a Kansas nonresident archery license! It was my first year applying. My dad and brother also drew. We will be hunting area 9, sort of in the Northeast part of the state. Any ideas on the best time to go or anything? We want to hunt the rut, but aren't sure when that is in Kansas. We have shed hunted in that area and found nice ones on public land, so we have some spots in mind. Any info will help. I can't wait to go!
