Rage/other Expandables: Bone or non-broadside shots
Everyone else posts about the Rages, so I wanted to join the fun...
I've been shooting fixed blade for my two years in this excellent hobby with no issues. However, the newer broadheads (Rage 2 blade) seem like they leave EXCELLENT entry wounds. But now let's talk about a not-so-perfect shot.
Have people with expandables shot deer in dense bone (shoulder blade), or in a quatering position? If so, please share your experiences with me as I'd like to hear about whether or not deflection, or uneven blade opening occurs.

There is no such thing as a "non-perfect" shot with a Rage Broadhead.[:-]

I have taken all of my deer with Grim Reaper 100gr Razortips, and they have worked perfectly on everything. I have to state that I have not hit one in the shoulderthough (knock on wood).

RE: Rage/other Expandables: Bone or non-broadside shots
I have shot one buck with a spittfire high in the shoulder, head opend and broke the top of that shoulder, then stuck in the off side one. It was a fairly steep angle as well. Head worked fine in that case. Of course I am pushing 75 ft/lbs of KE so that helps a lot.
RE: Rage/other Expandables: Bone or non-broadside shots
I have shot 2x bucks on hard quartering angles with the Rage. Bothcompletely passed through. One only hit ribs (broke 2 on the way in, and I think one on the way out), and the other took out like 3 ribs on the way in, and sliced through a good 1-1.5" of the thin part of the shoulder blade on the way out.
I was using a 380ish grain arrow going 285fps or so for both deer.
