Default Horton wins at IBO

This just came out today from the folks at Horton:

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Horton"s reCon 175 Takes First Place at I.B.O.

Tallmadge Ohio (June 17, 2008) - Horton, the industry pioneer and leader in crossbows and maker of Vertical by Horton, its line of compound bows, today announced that its new reCon 75 crossbow, shot by Mark Beck, took first place in the 2nd Jewel of the I.B.O. National Triple Crown held on June 14th through the 16th in McKean Pennsylvania.

Mark has been shooting compound bows on the National and World circuits for over six years. Beck said, "To achieve the best performance, I have always worked on my own equipment. This is not the case with the reCon 175. With the exception of the arrows, I shot the reCon right out of the box. I used Horton"s standard Carbon Strike MX arrows with a 100-grain point to slow the reCon down to meet I.B.O standards. While I"m a pretty decent shooter, the reCon"s performance was great, taking me to first place."

This may have been beginner"s luck. We"ll see at the 3rd Jewel of the I.B.O. National Triple Crown to be held in Nelsonville Ohio July 11th, 12th, and 13th.

It's funny to me how the bow won.
