Dang Troy, that guy would have been a fun one to match wits with this fall. He's got some tine length. Is all this due to the deep snow having their browse covered up all winter?

That is a shame Troy! I know winter kill is part of nature but it sure seems like a waste!

What a monster, a shame. Knowing you though, you will find an even bigger one to set your sites on.

That sucks brother. Were the rest of the bones laying near it? Is it a winter kill? If it is, you must have had the snow pretty early, funny that he'd still be packing his rack. Most winter kills we find up here haveshed and if they haven't, its usually a wolf kill.

Did you find anything else last night?

Do you have any idea why you are finding so many? Is that even a lot of dead ones for up there?

That is a shame. Where we hunt elk in CO I almost always find a bull or two dead from the year before, but I figure that is mostly bad shots that resulted in a dead animal and no recovery.
