Default Bear hjunting

This might be a stupid question but just wondering if a 200 lb. black is a good size bear. My son just got one and said it's a 200lb bear. I'm pretty excited for him.

A 200lb bear fall or spring is a great bear. Being its a spring bear thats a dandy bear. They will put allot of weight on this summer and fall before hibernation. Congrats to your son.

200 lb boar in the spring around here is a veryrespectable bear.. Long hibrinations usually equate to lower body weights unless the bears have an abundant food source in the spring and summers.. A mature bear here will gain over a 100 lbs through the summer and fall..

Well done and congrats..

If youwant you can have his skull measured and have the hide squared....then get back to us andlet us know how he measured up..

Bears are just cool critters to hunt period.. Congrats !

If he is happy with it that is all that matters. Sounds like he put inalot of time and $$ to be able to do this hunt. I went to Canada last fall and shot one with my bow that was 200 lbs and I thought it was great. I had a full body mount done.

When I went up there I was going to havea rug done but we went into the taxidermist shop and he had a full body mount of a bear that was 200 lbs. My buddy and I looked at each other and said if we killed one that size we were going to have it done. Well we both killed 200 lb bears and we both dropped a little over $2,000.00 each. My wife and kids love it.
