I decided to take a trip to the foodplots this morning to check how they are doing with all the rain we've had here latley. Well as i crested the top of this hill, about 10 buzzards took off from this brush pile. I though to myself, I wonder what they were doing over there? So I marked the place in my mind and i took maybe 20 more steps, i herd something jumping around down in the creek bottom to my left and I saw a huge doe running up the enbankment to my left and then it hit me what was going on. I began wondering over to where the buzzards were, and I must have looked for about 10-15 minutes around this brush pile, and finally, I found what it was that they were eating. Whats even more upsetting about the whole situation is, this fawn was just dropped, I could tell and the kill had just happened maybe 30 minutes before I arrived i do think, the legs werent even locked up yet, all i found of the fawn was all 4 legs and the head. The eyes werent even hazed yet. Such a tragic waste, I think it was a buck because theres 2 black spots on its head where the antlers should be. Truly not how I was hoping this walk in the woods would turn out.
