Default "SPOT"

Have you guys seen this?

http://www.findmespot.com/Home.aspx

"The worlds first satellite messenger"

169$

GPS you can send, sends messages to people, allow people to view your progress, 911 button allerts local police, state patrol, and even coast guard.

I think this would be an extremely usefull tool for people who hunt alone. Especially in the mountains, or hard terrain. This is a tool that could possibly save your life if you get lost, or hurt while hunting.

Thoughts?

Yes, I see it advertised, if it were a little cheaper (monthly fee)I'd consider using it since I spend so much time in the back country alone.

Yeah ive heard of them, i do hunt big woods bucks but certainly no wilderness. If i lived way out in the boondocks im sure it would be and awesome tool. Thats really not a bad price considering the benefits...your life...

And these were my thoughts.

It would also be a usefull tool when going on hunting trips, say out west, where you do not know the land...and anything could happen.

Theres a few kinds of lost my friend. Definatly a difference between being turned around out back where all ya gotta do is walk about 100 yard till you know where you are, and being out in the wilderness where god knows what could happen.

But i agree, i do like being lost every now and then, its almost soothing or something like that...
