Default A place I COMPLETELY forgot I had...

Well, the other night I headed to the lake to put some fresh Saugeye filets in the pan and I remembered a small 40acre parcel of land that I have exlcusive permission to hunt. I hunted it some in college without much success and somehow I totally forgot about it.

On the way to the lake I remembered it and drove by to check a little field that is on it and here is what I found....

[:@][:@][:@]I shoulda been there!

i done that often myself.....

get permission...after quick look you say "man whyd i wanna hunt here" forget about it...dont talk to the land owner...couple years later you see something that reminds you WHY you wanted to hunt there lol....

right now i am kicking myself...had permission to hunt a farm REAL close to home...walked around with the 22 looking for groundhogs and a quick scouting...didnt look good...but i never gave it a GOOD look....or a look in fall, winter or spring when sign shows up best....and never really ventured into the woods.....i KNOW theres deer and turkey in the area...and that farm is about the only land that is slightly touchable...i just forgot about it....and wont hunt it now because i havent talked to them since that day....

Exactley, get this. My grandma lives by one of my hunting spots (near Lake Lugert) and she has had a gobbler and 2 hens in the cattle lots every morning this week, 30 yards from the back door! They know whats up!

It must be a nice problem to have, to have so much ground to hunt you forget about some of it. I bet you don't forget about it next turkey season!
