Default Let it not be in Vane.

I have been starting to really look at the setup that i have always been handed to me by my father and comparing it to the modern developments that have been comping up in archery. Right now i am shooting Easton XX75 2213 aluminums with 4" feathers but i just recently we decided to switch to carbon arrows, well...ill just get to the question, what are the pros and cons of using, lets say a 2" vane or 4" feathers?
