Default Beheaded

I went out on 05.07 (the CT. opener) with the intention of shooting the first legal turkey with the new Magnus Bullheads.I got to my blind (Ground Max predator den) at about 0500hrs. and started hearing birds gobble at about 0520 hrs.I had a B-Mobile decoy setup along with an older blowup hen.At about 0600 hrs.I made a few calls and had 5 jakes come to within 35 yards of my setup, but that was it.They stuck around for several minutes just eyeing my setup, but wouldn't come any closer. They eventually drifted off to other parts.I gave a few more calls and had two more birds gobbling from different directions.I saw one of them a few minutes later at about 40 yards,a nice long beard, but it just kept walking and gobbling. The birds got quiet for a while after that.At about 0730 I gave another series of calls and got some birds fired up.Several minutes later three jakes came walking right into my deke setup.Once they were at 10 yards,I started questioning whether I would try and shoot one.I finally decided to stay with my original goal of shooting the first leagal bird;so I came to full draw, made a put with my mouth call to stretch the birds neck, and fired. At the shot the arrow struck the bird a few inches above the beard, cutting the head and neck completely off.The head actually flew a couple feet into the air landing a foot or so from the body of the bird.It was an amazing sight to see first hand. One of the blades of the head broke off at the base where it screws in.However that may have happened when it passed through the bird and could've struck a large oak directly behind the bird.It happened so fast I couldn't tell. I had my bullheads screwed into the end of some older Easton carbon evoution 300's that flew them great with four 4" Trueflight feathers on the back.I used my '06 Pearson Steath set at 68 lbs. to launch them. The photos sorta suck since I did'nt have anyone around to snap the shots,so I was diving into the front of the camera trying to beat the timer.I'm usually a stickler when it comes to taking photos but this is the best I could get.The bird weighed 15 lbs. and had a 4" beard. Two more tags to fill.

Did you notice any difference in flight? Did you have to aim high and right or was it dead nuts on?
