Great point Vick!
And thanks for your response. I guess I can prove it by having you call the secretary of the Kansas Bowhunters Association. That's about all I can say. I can't put a link up on the website because the contest is not an official KBA event. If it were to become an official KBA event it would have to be approved by the EC and then have all kinds of regulations added to it. It's much simpler this way.
We are just a couple of guys from
www.bowsite.com that wanted to do something good for the youth of Kansas through bowhunting. We've raised over $500 this spring for the scholarship fund which will be awarded at the annual convention in Hutchinson in February. I'm not crazy about the money comming through me and I hope to do something about that in the future, but if I had the participants send the money directly to the KBA, how do I know it gets there? How can I let them in on the contest when I don't know if they have paid or not? I'm spending my own money mailing the donations to the KBA, setting up a website, and mailing the prizes out to the winners.
I posted it on here and on Archery Talk just to get it out to a broader audience. I understand your concern, but we are legit. If you would like to talk with me about it in more detail send me an email to
bowhuntercampfire@gmail.com and I'll send you my phone number, or if you are in my part of the state I'd be glad to meet with you somewhere and discuss this further.
If you would like to talk with one of the EC members of the KBA their contact info is posted at
www.thekbasite.com
Thanks,
Matt
