Default I need to do more research for birds.

I have hunted three different places,(2 states), for turkeys this year with very little results. I have seen a few birds but a shot opportunity at a tom or even a jake just hasn't happened.
All of the places I huntedare pretty far away. The closest is a three hour drive. So scouting just didn't get done especially with todays gas prices. I went on second hand information from landowners etc. Next year I'll have to bite the bullet and make the drives to the different places I'll hunt.
I'm not done yet. This coming weekend I'll hunt the place north of Abilene I went to on opening morning. I at least saw some birds there and had them gobbling. I went home early due to being sick. Maybe this week I'll be able to seal the deal.
Next year I'll hunt out of state again I hope. When I decide where to go I'll try to do some better planning and hope that pays off with better results.

Good luck tx.How much time do you have left? I've been driving around here looking for birds with very little luck.My scouting hasn't been much either do to gas and others hunting now.My season starts the 5 and runs to the 31 so I'll have time I hope.Stay with for #9.

I am dealing with some of the same frustrations Tx, I have been out 4 outings and have 1 hen sighting to show for it - the land is not close and I am relying on the LO's info - been a tuff year
