A giraffe could potentially feed a very large village. If its legal, well, whatever floats yer boat.

I can understand if it were villagers kiling it, but this guy paid big bucks to shoot it, just don't see it being done out of the compassion in his heart for the local tribe....

I saw a show yesterday, not sure if the same one but the guy shot a Giraffe. He was bummed he couldn't get a shot on the darker Giraffe out of the two he had a shot on. I also saw Ted Nugent on Cribs and he had quite a few mounts of stuff I'm not sure he ate, but then again it is Uncle Ted.

True, I understand that. However, and I may be wrong, but it is my understanding that the meat on many safaris goes to the locals and that is prearrainged. I personally have no desire to shoot a giraffe but it would make a nice looking rug.I saw a show where a guy shot a zebra and wondered why anyone would want to do that. Then I figured hes got a tag, thats why.

I couldn't agree more! I don't seehow they call that "hunting" no matter how you look at it. I think the villagers would survive withouthis help anyway. JMO

I say let the villagers shoot it then, they have for thousands of years, why does someone from America need to come and shoot it? What thrill can you get from shooting a Giraffe? I hate to put any type of hunting down, but this is rediculous, I mean it's a GIRAFFE!!!!!!!!

Vabowman,
I watched that show and I have to say that I agree with your point of view, but just for argument's sake, if someone is going to kill it anyway, does it really matter that someone pays big bucks for the opportunity to see if he can get the job done with a bow?
