Never hunted them in the evening, so it doesn't factor in for me. But...if I had to choose between daylight and late morning...later wins out hands down, not even close.
Some of us don't have much of a choice. Here in PA we can only hunt until noon each day during our spring season.

Every bird I've killed was before 8am. The birds are more responsive in the early morning. I've always heard late morning to early afternoon, but I've never had any luck or even heard a gobble later.
