"Shooter" bucks... what does it mean to you?
Alright, a shooter buck means something different to pretty much everybody for lots of different reasons... My question is what do you personally consider a "shooter" buck? To me and the places that I hunt a deer that I field judge very near P&Y is a shooter to me. I know that when one of my buddies refers to a shooter, he (or she) is talking about a deer in that will go at least in the mid 120's. I was just curious to others' thoughts.

either a buck that will go above 150 unless he is 3.5 years old or any genetically inferior 4.5 or older buck

Inside spread past ear width
8pt minimum, though 10pt ideal
140"+ min, 150"+ better
3.5yo ideal min. age
may consider taking a"management buck" this year

Shooters for me around my place will gross in the 130's like the girls are holding, but you better be ready to eat tag soup waiting for one. I have shot 3 in 11 seasons and thats 2 more than anyone else I know of around here. Now any thing with 6 or more points on its head and nice full hind quarters is dead meat around my Wife.

Nice mounts and great grandkids, Sliver.
A shooter buck to me is what ever I like at the time. Usually I try for something pretty decent, 140+.

Thanks Greg, they come to Pa Pas house and play with deer horns (I tell them they are antlers, but they call them horns) and Bear skulls.

4.5 year old or older
4pt = 135 plus
5pt = 145 plus
Last day of season - diminutive spikeand bigger.

With all the doe tags I am allowed meat is no problem.
So as of right now mostly 130's or higher.
Silver nice room pal, most of those kills in Northern, MI? Damn good if they are
due to tough hunting up there.
