Default afternoon turkeys

For those of you that can hunt turkeys in the afternoon what timeframe are you seeing the birds - I am going to try and leave work a little early and give em a go this afternoon

I can't hunt them in the afternoon, but I see them on my property anywhere from 4:30-5:00 in the fields. Went out the other evening at about 6pm and they were in an oak flat heading towards roost already.

Frank:

I shot my only bow gobbler last year at 6:40 (I think)......but to be honest....I have more activity earlier in the afternoon.

For that reason, alone, I'm sitting all day....as long as I can take it, tomorrow.....then bagging it for the day (whatever time that is). I'm not gonna split it up.

Good luck!

Good deal Jeff, going roll here in another 30-45 mins and hunt a meadow the l.0. has been seeing the birds in the afternoon - trying to get up there and set-up by 3:45 - 4pm and then I am going to hunt all day tomorrow as well- what date does our season close - going to hit them hard as I can from now until then

Are you going to move around a little, or sit in the same spot, near the roost? Curious.

I'll be in a woodlot about 200yds from where they're roosting. They use this woodlot all day long.....and it's the place they came to first when Rob and I were hunting last week. I honestly think a turkey could walk by in this spot at any time.

So....I'll stay put.
