So this question is for the dads in the forum... If you don't have a child, feel free to vote anyway in the hypothetical mode.
Would you rather your daughter marry:
A successful, faithful guy who doesn't hunt at all.
or
A successful, faithful guy who is obsessed with hunting.

Now, before you answer, please consider that most hunters spend a lot of days afield, leaving their wives at home to tweedle their thumbs and do the lion's share of the housework. Fly solo with the kids. All while dad sits in his treestand.
In addition, the obsession with hunting has been the demise of many marriages, and caused a lot of grief for a lot of people over the years. I'm sure we've got some guys on here who willagree that their desire to be in the woods put a heavy strain on their marriages.
I have family members who would readily admit that their obsession with hunting has ruined not only their marriage, but their relationship with their own kids.
So, in the best interest of your own daughter: Would you really want her to marry an avid hunter, just like you?
RE: Fathers, don't let your daughters grow up to...
Hopefully my daughters will be into hunting aswell and their type of guy would naturally share the same interests. Also I would hope that I could enjoy a deer camp with a son in law or 2, then my grandkids would more than likely be brought up deer hunting and the tradition continues. My girls are 7 and 3 right now so I have a lil time before I have to hand them off to someone...
RE: Fathers, don't let your daughters grow up to...
Matt, you are so right, BUT..... (and this is a big BUT).... if he doesn't hunt, he can't possibly be happy. If he is not happy himself, how can he make someone else happy? So, she should marry a hunter and become his favorite hunting partner!
