Default Turkey down!!!!!!!! 4/18/08

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
well i broke in my AR34 today, got my first turkey ever and with a bow iam still all excited heres how it happened..
I took this afternoon off went out to my favorite spot on my parents land,as i arrived i could hear them gobblin already, thinking a was too late i grabbed my gear and headed to a thicket of trees down and outa sight of them,i tried to setup my blind as quick as possible but it was so windy it broke a pole in my blind,[&o]so i tossed it in some brush grabbed my gear and went further west up this tree line 30yds regrouped were a tree had fallen from last years ice storm picked a good spot with a lane 1oyds long to open field rushed myself to setup decoys a jake and hen, went back to my stool got my bow all ready started calling all went quiet, called every 20 min or so for about 1 hour then outa now where i hear this gobblin north of me almost to my backside,so i call quickly about a minute goes by i hear this crashing behind me and these two young turkeys come from my backside around my to my left, because of tree braches, then to my decoys, one was strutting and got close to my jake decoy,i raised my bow slowly drew and he turned sideways i, let her fly he turnes away from me and arrow hits his wing,he boucnes all over the place, before i can ran out and get him he gets his feet under him follows other tom into the woods were i slowly trail him by blood trail, spook him once so i lay back, wait creep in closer, all this time theirs more birds gobblin every where couldnt believe it,i finally find him put one more arrow for final kill and retrieved my first turkey with a bow..He had a 4"beard with 1/2 spurs...18lbs.....sorry so long........
also cant say enough about the rage 2blades awesome stuff........
