Default RE: Wet weather, flooded timber, and the deer right now

My numero Uno deer spot has been flooded for nearly 2 months now. Unless something is done with the beavers[:@], who multiply faster than freakin rabbits btw,on the neighboring property, It wont be deer huntable this year.My grandad actually took TNT to a beaver dam back in the 70s down there, but that is another story for anotherday.

The only reason Im not complaining to bad is because I have many more farms to choose from, and this flooded timber/20 acre field, should make for one hell of a duck hunting bottoms this winter. 2 miles from the fork of two major rivers meeting, a 15 acre lake 600 yards away. Woodies are already there in hords, should make for some fun hunting. The cranes and egrets have already found it, every time I drive by there are probably 15 down there.

I too wonder where the deer go to. One farm was under literally 10 feet of water, ALL over. The rivers backed up real real bad, and filled the place up like a bowl. Took a week for all the water to finally drain.

I don't know exactly where you are in Indiana, but i do a lot of hunting in White County, Illinois which is just across the Wabash River from Indiana and i couldn't even get to my best spot a few days ago. The creek goes down quick, so i'll get in there the next time i go down. The deer always come back the minute the creek is back in it's banks.
