Within this past year, as many of you know I've owned SEVERAL different bows.
2 Ross 337's
1 Hoyt Vectrix XL
1 Browning F5 Tornado [:@]
1 Ross Cardiac (still have)
1 PSE Shark X (still have)
Many people will say, and still will continue to say, "My 33" ata bow shoots just as good as a longer one." After shooting as many bows as I have this year (not just including the ones I've owned) this is just simply NOT true. I've been shooting my Cardiac quiet a bit lately, just to practice hunting situations. It is NO WHERE as forgiving as my Shark X. Once again, probably not the fairest of comparisons, due to they are made with different ideas in mind. For me though, I think I prefer hunting bows of 36" or longer. The advantages, of a longer bow are great. I also love the string angle, and the way a longer bow feels better. The Vectrix XL, was the perfect hunting bow for me, spec wise. The Cardiac "feels" better to me, but I wish it was longer.
For me, I LOVE the specs of the 101st Airborne, and IF I was in the market for a new hunting bow, and I was choosing from anything, I would choose the 101st Airborne or the Elite XtremeXl.
I've noticed I shoot a lot better with my Guardian, than I did with my Bowtech Mightymite. The Mightymite had an ATA of 31" and the Guardian is almost 34", and I really think a longer ATA helps me as well. It just sits dead in my hands, where I used to be so unsteady. I love my new bow!

Matt, until I bought my 06 Ally, I never owned a bow shorted than 36"(and usually exactly 36") so you got to know how thrilled I was when I heard that Bowtech was making a 36" ATA bow, thrilled and it's everything I thought it would be and wanted! Don't get me wrong, my Ally still shot but it's the shortest bow I owned until the General and now the Black Ice. I love the feel of the 36" bow.
I agree 100%. My 2005 Hoyt Protec, at 38", has a level of forgiveness and consistency that I haven't been able to get out of any of the short bows. I just bought a Vectrix XL - I'm hoping it turns out to be as good of a bow as the Protec. The short bows, when your form is perfect, can shoot very well. But under field conditions, when you are running on four hours sleep, things can get a little uncertain.

What's your guy's take on this?
I think I remember someone saying that about short hunting bows.
Weren't you trying to shoot indoor with the Vectix xl? That bow is designed for hunting and is better suited in that role.
Isn't it amazing AFTER TRYING the "forgiving" bows how much you start to like them.
For 3-d I prefer them around 38" and for hunting,atleast 36".
In a hunting situation, I have no doubt the Cardiac (short bow) will preform, that's why I'm hunting with it, but the slightest flaw, throws it off quiet a bit. It's REALLY picky about the bow being level.

Yeah I carried the hunting bow (Vectrix Xl) over into 3d for a couple months.
I'm liking this 38" Shark X. It seems to fit me pretty well. My next hunting bow will be 35-36" atleast.
Matt one thing I notice with the Cardiac is it tends to want to "wobble" instead of fall forward like the Cr337. I am going to add a bit more weight to the front. Longer stablizer and see what happens.

I can't add any more weight to the front. It's EXTREMELY top heavy. I know Andy designed them this way but I'm not sure about his reasoning behind it.
