Default What is it like????

What is Missouri like?? I was told it was much like Va, well at least like Va was 30 yrs ago. Abundant farms and rural towns. Here in SE Va we are getting so overwhelmed by northerners no offense guys, just stating facts, coming to Va for cheaper living and military transfers. Anyway, I want to hear from the MO boys on here, give me some pics if ya got them..

I doubt your getting PA'ers, VA cheaper? Never would have thought that, maybe cheaper than NJ or MD but not PA. I had a former brother in law who lived in VA and we'd visit, no thank you. No offense VA'nians. But back on topic, don't know nuthin bout MO.

Turkeys galore, good deer hunting too.....its very hilly in the southern part of MO. They are starting to get some wild hogs in the Mark Twain forrest. Pretty cool place to visit or live. I lived there in the mid 90's, good trout fishing too.

It's not so bad once you get away from the bigger cities. Around my home there are still a few small farms. But most have had subdivisions built on them in the last 5 years or so. That has slowed down quite a bit lately. Lots of big farms between here and Kansas and up North along Iowa. Down South we have the ozarks, very old mountain range, lots of hills and woods left down there. Here is a pic of one farm I hunt around home.

Im only going on how many guys I teach with from PA. In my history dept, we have 3 from PA, and1 from Conn. they did say it was a bit cheaper here in south east Va. Did you go to Northern Va, b/c yeh, that is expensive and that's a rat race!! Anything below Richmond is completely different. It's like a whole nother world!! From Richmond to NC there are no real major cities, and if you go east south that is you will hiut some very populated areas on the beach, Norkolk, Hampton, and Va Beach are rediculous. It's all starting to close in on us here where I live about 20 min south of Richmond. ahhh, Missouri it just sounds good, but I can't leave my roots and family here, man, it sucks sometimes when you are so close to your family!!

Yeah that's probably true Vabowman. I suppose it depends on where you live in VA. He lived around Manassa's. I'd imagine the expense out of DC was there. I'll be traveling through VA on Thursday.

Your probably getting teachers from PA as teaching jobs are hard to come by here.

I grew up in SE MO, and to me, it was VERY similar to SE VA, but with even less people (at least where I grew up). Also, TONS of public land with mostly big timber. The deer hunting was ok down there, but you won't have the liberal bag limits that you guys have in VA (looking at 4-5 deer total with gun, and bow). What part of the state are you looking at?

Here's a pic of SE Mo. Hills are bigger than they look in the pic.
