Default My turkey hunt today

Well, I set off bright and early this morning, once again, in pursuit of my first gobbler with a bow. As I sat in the darkness, I began to hear the activity begin, yelps and gobbles off in the distance. As the sun peaked up, I started working my slate call. I barely finished my first yelpwhen a gobble busted off that sounded like it was sitting in my lap...scared me to death[&:]. I began looking around and got into postion for where I thought they were coming from. (Iopted to go withoutablind this time). I watched 7 hens walk right to left in front of me at about 12 yards...and bringing up the rear was a jake with a MONSTEROUS 3" beard. I debated in my head for about 2 seconds, decided if I should let him walk or not. Then this thought entered my head..."Im tyring to get my first turkey with a bow, and here is my chance." So I came to full draw and placed the pin on its destination. I tripped the realease and instantly heard a big "THUNK" sound. I looked up tosee the jake, unalarmed, walking away, chasing after his girls.

I was baffled...so I got up and walked over to the spot I had shot.......and found this[&o] Oh well....I must have had tunnel vision on the little guy cuz I swear I never saw this limb.....No big deal though, Ill get him next time, and it wasa fun day in the woods nonetheless

I'm pretty sure if you had used a Rage 2-blade it would have cut through that limb, killed the turkey and then resharpened itself!

At least you had fun. Congrats!
