Default Night optics

I have been thinking of night optics for scouting...
I know there god aweful expensive, but most of the reclusive mature bucks just don't poke their heads out during the day.
I have trail cameras that substitute for some "night" scouting, but they only work for specific locations and 50-60 feet.
I know they have different phases available and that certainly goes with stiffer prices.
Was wondering if anyone has tried them before and if they actualy work for longer distances 100-200 yards?
