Default blinds/fields

When using a blind in a field, do you set-up in the middle of the field or near the edge - I have access to a large grassy field, that the turkeys are coming out in the back corner - would it better to set-up in the middle of the field or back in the woods ?

For turkeys it just absolutely doesn't matter. Set up where you'll have the best shot of killing one. Just stake it down good to keep it from flapping in the wind.

It would depend on the weather......and whereI think the turkeys actually are wanting to go. We can talk about this Sunday if you'd like. The key to being a good caller (I'll say it again) is setting up where they want to go, anyway.

Morning v/ evening (and how that relates to where they're roosting

clear v. raining

etc...

Gospel.

Turkeys, for whatever reason, don't mind blinds. As long as it doesn't shine or flap in the wind, you can set them up pretty much anywhere.

I have heard that using them in the center of the field is better simply because if you are using decoys you have a better chance of them noticing your spread in the middle of the field than at the edge. The others bring up good points though in that you have to be where they want to go.

Like others have said, it doesn't matter. Use the above mentioned precautions and set up in the exact spot you've been seeing them. And then get ready to WHACK 'EM!! Good Luck.
