My mom found this antler after the snow melted. As you can see the antler isn't a shed. A chunk of the skull is still attached. They like to cross the road in that area -- maybe he got hit by a car. Do you think he survived this?
If he did survive, I'll bet he had one hell of a headache. [&:]

He could have lived. I know a guy who shot a buck one time that had a completely busted skull plate (the two horns could both move if you grabbed them. He saw the deer like this and shot it found out the skull plate was split from a fight of hit by a car of something. Another buck I saw one time a guy shot had one of the horns almost busted off and the skull plate was busted like the one you found only there was even more skull on it. Don't know how either of those two bucks were still alive but they were like that when they shot em so who knows. WCL

O a buck I shot3 years agotook a tine in the forhead through the skull as well and it was all fuzed back together. It was an oval piece about the area of a dime totally punctured with new bone growth around it. That buck was all beat to crap with a huge gash all the way down his face as well that was all healed over and many punctures in his neck and face. WCL
