I like my hunting bow to fall inbetween 7-8.5".

Ah, it's over rated. I've shot and hunted with a variety of brace heights and the one thing that was common in them all, tagged deer!
Same goes with 3D, a variety of brace heights and one thing in common, busting nocks.

I have my brace height set so my arrows are flying true and my bow is quiet as possible, the Longbow likes 7 5/8", not sure about my Bowtech, I forget![8D]

That's why I like a minumum of 7 inches and a max of 8.5 for a hunting setup.... Anything over that (8.5)is excessive IMO.
