Default When it rains.....it pours....

I gained access to 130 more acres yesterday.....to deer hunt. I was hoping to get to turkey hunt there....but I'll take what I can get.

Nobody's hunted it for several years.....and "most" of it is within the triangle of land that I cite as being about a little over a sq. mi.......and the herd I hunt.

The area I'm MOST interested in is just outside this area, though. I FINALLY get to hunt ag crops and bedding areas. The ag crops are "just" outside the boundaries of the property I have permission to hunt.....but mere feet. I'll be looking for the travel routes to and from here.

This is about 1.5 miles from my house......and about .5 mi. from my in laws. I've even found an access from another road.....and I'll be knocking on some doors, soon.....seeking access permission to simply park and walk-thru.

Another dimension.......should be fun. With this news I'm torn as to what to do witht he other land, this fall. I don't have time to scout and hunt all these area......but it would be neat to treat the family land like a DIY and do some 3 day-ers up there.

We'll see.....but it's great to have options......and new challenges......and heck.....NEW DEER

Congrats Jeff. I found out the land I was turkey hunting on is open to me for deer as well. I saw some great deer sign when I was there. its 4 hours from home but at least I have a place to go now. And there are some big boys out there. The owner,(Caries boss), and his hunting buddies go out for a week of deer camp each year. That leaves the place to me the rest of the year. 300 acres with little pressure.
