Default RE: KE?

ke=M * v2 / 450,240

M=Mass of arrow in grains
V=Velocity of arrow

My target arrow is 349 grains, shooting 282fps I am just a touch over 61 foot pounds.

My hunting arrow is 431 grains, shooting 292fps, I am just a touch over 83 foot pounds.

And in simpler terms...

speed x speed x weight/ 450240

I'm tossing a 440 grain 2613 296 fps, producing almost 85 foot pounds of KE. Yeah, it hits hard.

My hunting arrow will be a 2512, weighing around 475 grains, in the upper 280's. Let's just figure it @ 285. Nearly 86 foot pounds of KE.

I'm spitting out around 60-61ft lbs. I didn't really beef up my arrow at all this year. I see no need for where I hunt.

There must be a typo here somewhere, your lighter arrow is slower??

I shoot my target arrow at a lighter draw. ASA limits me to 280fps, so I have to crank my draw way down to get down to that speed. The arrow is the Goldtip Ultralight Pro. I have to say, it is really nice when shooting those summer shoots when it is 100 degrees outside and not having to pull 70lbs.

Thanks fellas, last night I got some new 2" Quick spins on my arrows and I had a total weight of 437gr. Also, my new sight came in and got it put on. It's a Sword Apex hunter. This sight is pretty sweetttt! I was so excited to get home anddial it in that I forgot to shoot a couple arrows through the chrono while I was at the shop to see what my speed was.

Spring turkey... Bring it ON!
Thanks again fellas!
