Default New hunting bow.......

I hope to have one on the way in the nextweek or so, and anticipate getting it setup for spring gobbler. The Apex has officially been replaced by the new Constitution (wasn't going to sell it till I put the Conny through the paces)and is officially up for sale as of 10 minutes ago, and I expect it to besoldbefore Monday. I'll use the $$$ from the Apex to fund a new hunting bow now.

I'm thinking a wrapped .019 Spot Hogg Hunter Hogg-It, Deluxe Biscuit, Sims S-Coil, and of course Gibblet string/cables. Not sure yet on what bow I'm going to get, but I'm pretty sure I'm looking for something light. A lot of the spots I want to get into at Dan's camp this year are 1+ mile hikes up and downhills, and it will be MUCH easier to get in without sweating up a storm if I can eliminate as much weight as possible. I've already got to pack a climber in there, so I don't want a heavy bow too. So far I'm thinking 31-33", 7"+ of bh, fairly light, and fast enough at 60lbs to shoot a 380 grain CAA 400 at 290+.

I'll post more when I figure out what I'm going to get, I'm hoping to have something in my hands by the end of next week so I have enough time to get it setup and tuned for gobblers.

OR, would the Black Ice reach the speeds he's after? It fits all the other requirements.

Matt beat me to it.

I think the newer Allys would be PERFECT for what you're after; in other words, it'd be right up your alley! I kill me!

Seriously, the Black Ice is a sweet bow, but if you're looking at getting the best speed you can out of a lightweight platform, the Alley is the only way to go. I sold my BI after one season as I couldn't get used to watching the arrows arch into the target when shot next to my Alleys... As you know, I just ordered my third one this past week.

If you want a smoother draw experience, slap the ESM mods in... I generally keep the EFA's in mine until the temps drop down below freezing and I'll be possibly sitting on stand for hours before drawing the bow.
