Default Who's your hero?

Who is your hero in the deer woods, outside of family or friends. In other words, someone whom you have never met but really look up to and admire their attributes.

Without a doubt mine are:

Charles Alsheimer

Leonard Lee Rue III

Thats a tough one. In reality it would be my dad hands down but since you stated that no friends or family could be involved I would have to say the Wensel Brothers then. I've always enjoyed watching there deer hunting video's. They seem like real down to earth people to me and are also some pretty successful buck hunters. These boys can shoot a recurve too! They've made some unbelievable shots with there recurves on some of there video's of deer on a slow run or fast trot and numerous times they drilled them perfect at 20 yards.

If you are your own hero... does that really count as having an actual hero?

"Hero's" a little strong.....but I admire the way Brad Farris and Fred Eichler go about their respective business.

I don't know them, though. I have friends that I KNOW how they hunt.....and I admire them for it.

No doubt. That is a given. Without my dad, brother, and grandpa's then I would be nothing in the woods.

But I really like Charlie Alsheimer and Rue III. Mainly because Alsheimer is an amazing photographer, hunter, writer, and outdoorsman. He is my hero, because one day I hope to enjoy the same success/career that he leads in some way shape or form.

I admire Rue just because of his vast knowledge of the whitetail species. He is also an awesome photographer but I believe that his strength is his biological/anatomical/physiological (sp?)understanding of deer.
