Been have stomach/heartburn isuues, so I was put under and had an EGD (endoscopy) to see what was up. Today the results came back and I have a condition know as Barret's Esophugus which is considered to be a pre-cancerous changing of esophigal cells. Theres a 50/50 chance is progresses to full blown cancer or stays the sameand regresses. Obviously its not in a location that is easily treated. At 29, its scary to hear that you have something thats a precursor to cancer.
So any way, I've decided to be optimistic, knowing I have the condition and knowing I need to get it scoped regularly to keep on top if it as it is not a quick moving disorder. I've known to many people who have gone in for an ailment only to find out they already have full blown cancer, I guess you could say I'm a leg up on it.A few quick prayers that this thing doesnt progress would be greatly appreciated.
Just an FYI, the doctor said many people never even know they have this condition until it is too late and its the result of the stomach producing too much acid for too long and some of this acid continually getting into the esophogus. Please dont take regular heartburn lightly or if you have anxiety too often, get it checked out, you just never know.
I guess I better finally try the RAGE while I still have a chance
