Default Tekan II BH's any good?

As some of you know, I'm on a mechanical quest. I've gotten some suggestions on my other post by for some reason these BH's stand out.

There are a few things though that concern me:

1) possibility of BH not deploying due to icy conditions

2) don't remember where I read this but some guy was talking about poor blood trails. I realize the number one factor in blood trails is shot placement. Maybe older Tekans had issues but are now worked out?

3) also don't remember where I seen this online either but does the new Tekan II come in 1.5" cutting diameter. I seem to remember seeing a cutting diameter less than that. The main purpose of me going to a mechanical is to have a larger cutting diameter. If I can't get one in at least a 1.5" cut, I wont make the switch.

I need some experienced input on this BH.

thanks

Have you checked out piston points? Another interesting design. I have no 1st hand exp. but a cousin in the Hunting DVD market (Prostaffer) & the whole team uses them and they like'em (of course sponorship helps that consensus).

But they seem different and ya don't hear much about them on here.

That is the link for the BH you are talking about it has 1.5" diameter cut expanded. I dont shoot Mechanicals they make me nervous. However I love their non-mechanical BH's they have not failed me yet. Hope this helps.
