i read about ppl carryin there stands an sticks an puttin them up the morning of that hunt... how in the world do you do this... theres no way i could do with the equipment i got.. maybe i got the wrong stuff...for one by the time i got to the tree i would be soakin ass wet with sweat... let alone try to put the sticks up in the dark.... another question for the guys who are "tied" to the tree while climbing.. how do you do this where do you get the free hands to move the teather an such as your goin up?

i usually have my stand set up before i go i couldnt imagine trying to get all my stuff out there set up quietly in the dark and not be dead as tired and covered in sweat.

When I hunt the public land here in Wisconsin I put my stand up every morning and take it down every evening! I use the Lone Wolf Alpha with the LW climbing sticks! This stand is pretty easy to set up and take down, even in the dark! I can have it up and ready to hunt in about 10 - 15 minutes, I can have it down in about 2 - 3 minutes! I've got my system down pat, most of the time I go up the tree once set the sticks/stand as I climb, then climb down attach bow and pack, get my camo on and climb back up and be ready to hunt! Its second nature! I find the LW Alpha and Sticks far easier than a Climber and I can go in more places than I climber will go, its lighter as well!

I have been hunting from the ground a lot more these days because I hate dragging stands around. Sweaty and very very noisy. I use netting that I put in my backpack. This year I will try a ground blind for the first time. I'm hoping for better weather control and scent control.

It takes me 20 minutes to set up my climber, put out scent, make it 20' up the tree and to get every thing in place ready to shoot Then 15 minutes to take it all down and gether up my scent containers to start home....I do all this in the dark.
