Only in the fall and by happen stance.

In the spring, I'd never attempt it, they'd pick you out faster in a tree than on the ground, plus being stuck to one spot.

I see Turkey's alot in the fall while deer hutning out of my stands, but during the spring hunt it's better to be more flexible on the ground @ least that's my thoughts.

I can't count the times I've had 'em under me while I was in a stand. I just don't see this (above). If it were true.....so many guys wouldn't be shooting them from their stands while deer hunting. I see guys on here every year who do that for me to think it's HARDER than being on the ground.

If you wanna say it's harder than being in a BLIND.....I'd be more apt to believe that.

I'm strictly talking spring birds, not fall birds and I guess I can be more specific and say PA birds, they are a different critter...LOL

Even Fall, I've been busted by PA turkeys in the treestand 10 fold to when I've been on the ground. I've only successfully drawn my bow once in probably a dozen attempts on birds when in a treestand. Most of the time, they bust ya before you even get your bow in hand.

Also, in the spring we're most likely calling, they are looking for that source and coming in looking.

Correct me if I'm wrong Rob, but spring turkey hunting from a treestand is not permitted in PA.
