Default Would you shoot a B&C with a gun?

I'm after one and not really sure how to go about it, but in my other thread explaining my situation with a particular B&C I encountered this year...

but hoytail, i forgot to add i would gun hunt the deer also.
And it got me doing that thing again (thinking) and... I refuse to shoot a B&C with a gun. No elitism here because I'm yet veryinexperienced all things considered. Of courseI intend no offense or disrespect to anyone or their preference because we all have our own set of standards we live and in this case, hunt by. I just feel like I'd be doingthe B&Cwrong if I killed him with a gun. If I can't get him with my bow, I don't want him on my wall. It is a standard I feel a B&C is worthy of.

That's my opinion, what's yours?

I feel the same as you. I have absolutely no desire to hunt big game with a firearm, regardless of its size.

correct me if i am wrong but B&C is for animals shot with a gun and P&Y is for animals shot with a bow. So yes i would shoot it with a gun to get into B&C.

I don't think I'll ever be in a position to shoot one with a gun. I know of one that I've ever saw. I was tagged out but I know I wouldn't have persued him with rifle in hand. Hell, I truly doubt I ever take another whitetail with a rifle period. No elitism here either, it's just not something I choose to do anymore.

I consider myself a hardcore bowhunter...But If I had a chance to kill an animal that made B&C with a firearm, I'd do it in a heartbeat.

You can enter an Archery buck in the B@C book if it meets the minimum.

ive only killed em with a gun so far
should have a couple nice bucks under my belt with a bow, but i messed em up.
i said that because i figured that it would give you a better chance of harvesting the deer. but if you only what him on your wall after killing him with a bow, then go for it. maybe some day ill have that mindset.
and yes northernedge, B&C is gun, P&Y is bow, but i think hoytail is trying to say that it would make B&C (170" and above)

I'm with you on this one as well, never gun hunted for big game and don't have the desire to. 50 years from now when I'm old and gray I could possibly see myself setting down the recurve and using an old ML and I bet I wouldn't think twice about it then.
