elk hunt

fellow hunters well i have read a lot and myself and 3 friend that bowhunt want to do a hunt for elk and we are going to do the public land can anyone please give us some good help we are all deer hunters but need help on the elk thinking new mexico thanks for the help

Thats a good choice.. there are 23 million species and 11 acres to hunt in New Mexico!

haha, think he mixed up acres and species.

New mexico is good, not sure you'll all drawnon-res elk tags archery though? Idaho has OTC archery tags in every unit I think.

Put in for a good unit in NM and of the 4 of you maybe 1 of you should draw by the odds? Though all 4 can....

Can put in for a lesser unit? Do you want to go after, trophies? any old elk? Check draw odds and success rates....

If you're going non res DIY on public land, check maps, and check those success rates. Otherwise my suggestion would be for all 4 of you to do Idaho then all can hunt....some great elk....

If you go guided in NM draw odds go way up, up anyway.
