Im not sure....BUT the fire cat is a LOT cheaper and an awesome bow so i would go with the Firecat...

But if they both cost the same it would be a toughy...

THAT'S A HARD ONE, DUE TO THE MARTIN BEING ALMOST $300 CHEAPER. ONE THING TO NOTE. I'VE HEARD THAT MARTIN IS HAVING LIMB PROBLEMS, THE BOWS ARE NOT REACHING IBO SPECS THAT THEY HAVE CLAIMED. I THOUGHT IT MIGHT BE JUST ANOTHER RUMOR, BUT IN THE NEW ISSUE OF PETERSENS BOWHUNTER THE FIRE CAT THAT THEY TESTED COULD ONLY PUT OUT 328 AT 30DL AND 70LBS AND 350 GRAIN ARROW. I KNOW THATS REALLY FAST, BUT DON'T PUT 335-345 ON A BOW THAT CAN'T REACH IT. SO FOR NOW I WOULD CHOOSE THE MATHEWS. BUT IF MARTIN IS ON TOP OF THE PROBLEM THEN IMIGHT CHOOSE THEM.WHICH FROM WHAT I HEARD THEY ARE TRYING TO FIX THE PROBLEM. OTHERS ON HERE MAY HAVE MORE INFO THAN I CAN GIVE ON THE SUBJECT.

yeah I haven't had any problems yet with my martinbut I just like the price of the Fire Cat and they are pretty much the same bow!

I'll second that, we sell Martin in our shop and though they are goodbow. They are a lot slower than advertised. On three different Slayers we have tested all at 30" DL, 70#, with a 350 grain arrow, they are comming in at 20 f/s slower.Fromtwo different chronys (double checked)we were around330 f/s for our average, vs theadvertised claim of 350 f/s. Big difference! We also tested out a single FireCat and it was shooting at 323-324 IBO.Overall it is stll a fast bow, but its not as advertised. For some people thats no big deal and for others it is.

I admit I am aMathews shooter so Idid vote for Mathews and even if the Martins were not having limb problems I would vote for Mathews becausethat is what I shoot for the time being. But on the other hand I have owned and shot Martin bows in the past and they do make good bows. Bottomline a archer/bowhunter couldn't go wrongby owning either bow.

This really isn't a fair question because the two bows are not the same price. At least the MSRP price.
