Default I need help?(General or 82nd)

I am stuck between the General and the 82nd. witch one do you think would be the best for 3-D and Hunting. I know the 82nd is faster but ive heard good stuff about both of them. For you 82nd shooters, do you have problems with the pins being too close and covering up a lot of target so you cant get really percise shooting. is the 82nd more stable than the General. I've noticed that the 82nd when you get it to full draw that it just sits there, steady as can be. is the General the same way. Is the General smoother than the 82nd. Thanks in advance

For any amount of serious 3D and bowhunting the longer ATA Airborne is going to be much better suited for someone who is more of an advanced archer. IMO if I wanted something that was as close to a true dual purpose 3D and hunting bow I'd look at the Airborne 101 moreso than the 82nd. It's still super speedy, but a more forgiving brace height for those cold days or weird angles.
The General is considerably quieter and has less recoil and vibration but it's also giving updarn near 40fpsto the 82nd too right out of the box.

If I could only have 1 bow and needed it to do everything it would be a toss up between the Commander and Airborne 101, not the General and 82nd but hey that's just me! Make sure whatever you buy that you have shot it if at all possible and you are buying it because it feels right to you........not me. But you asked. LOL

You will also find that longer ATA bows and their geometry make them much better suited to proper form and references within your form.

I personally bought the General I liked how smooth and quiet it is! You can get your speed out of the General if you desire its all in what you want just get out and shoot them! You will know whats best for you when you shoot them!

I have to agree with Matt on this one. I'm no expert, nor have I shot the 101 or the commander, but on paper, I really like the looks of the Commander. Ironically, you don't hear much talk of this bow. I think it's a sleeper in the lineup. I'm shooting a 34" bow right now, and it's too short for me, so longer ATA and a more foregiving brace height is what I would look for. Then again, it's been discussed by those who have shot both the 82nd and 101st that they truly can't tell much of a difference, but who knows...I might have a totally different take if I were to shot them myself.

i have shot both the 82nd and the 101st and i personaly like the 82nd better but i shot the 82nd one day and shot the 101 a couple weeks later so i guess i need to shoot them back to back before i decide between them. i do like the A to A on the Airbornes. I also like the speed of the Airbornes. the General has a 8 1/4 inch Brace height and the 82nd has a 6.125 inch brace height and the 101 has a 7 1/4 inch brace height. the General is 31.188 inchA to A and the 82nd is 36.5 inch A to A and the 101 has a 36.25 A to A. Do you think that the longer brace height on the General will Make up for the shorter A to A.

I have all 3 and I'm not sure what your Draw length is, but my feelings are if you are 29" or longer then take a hard look at the 101. If you are 28.5" or shorter then the 82 is the bow I would look at. As far as the General short bows are not for everyone, but if you like them then the General is Super in all respects. My General is getting rigged for Turkeys, and after that I am sure the 82 and 101 will get the majority of work from me.

I have a 28 inch DL so i think the 82nd is the one for me, but im still gona shoot them all back to back and then decide.
