Default Speaking of binocs, click-style adjustment?

The other binoc thread got me thinking about something. I know what they mean when the say click-style focus. The adjustment knob clicks in increments, but I don't guess I have ever used any like that. Are they loud or subtle, smooth type clicks? I would hate to have a deer hear me adjusting the focus when it went to clicking.

Are they quiet?

Thanks.
