Default If only given one call for Turkey

If you were only given one call and a weapon of course to go out and turkey hunt which call would it be of these choices?

diaphram. No question. It's the call I use best, and the most versitile. Also, takes less movement.

For me it would be a slate call. Either slate or glass, it dosen't matter to me. I'd want a slate call cuz thats the call that i'm best at using.

I gotta put out props for River Valley Game Calls. I got a new Enigma Glass/Slate call from Rob/PA. it's a great sounding call and easy to use to make all the calls you need.

I'm a newbie to turkeys but have played with box and diaphragm calls for years just trying to learn..this call does all of the things those calls do with much less learning time! May just have to hit the Spring woods this year!

Gr8 your gonna love that Enigma call, a real winner. It is a great joint venture between River Valley Game Calls and Chuck Pensyl of Enigma Camo.
Here is a pic of it for you guys wondering what we are talking about.

As far as taking 1 call into the woods. I love my Cody Special cut Mouth call. So right now thats what I would take, just for being able to keep my hands free to shoot my bow but still being able to call.

Primos deadly double diaphram. It's a dual stacked frame call that is raspy, yet doesn't require tons of air and is still crisp enough to cut with. Every year I buy new calls to try out, but this is the one I keep going back to and 99% of the birds I've killed came into this call. I usually carry a glass call as well with me and sometimes double up to sound like more than one hen this way, but most of the time I'm using the mouth call only.

I'm looking forward to trying a few of the River Valley calls this year as well and hope to put one down with one of these.

I would take a diaphragm as well. Less movement and most veratile for me. If you're out there with a bow and no blind and that bird hangs at 50 you need to be able to throw a few coaxing calls in without moving.

I've tried out the Enigma slate too and I am impressed. I really suck at slate call, but this call I can use and make some decent sound with. The only problem is if you drop it you're never gonna find it again.

The diaphragm for for me too, it's tough to putt and purr with a slate call when you're at full draw
